Blue Gold™ Terra: Litter & Animal Bedding – Blue Gold by Eden Solutions

Blue Gold™ Terra: Litter & Animal Bedding

The average Poultry grower spends $1,500-2,000 per building on cellulose litter/bedding but derives no financial benefits from this necessary expense. Stop buying. Start investing.

Blue Gold™ Terra Quick Math to Total Net Profits:

For this formula, we used $2,000 as the average building cost and Terra - Hardwood cost at $0.31 cents per 1 lb delivered*.
*The product cost will never change. It is always the FTL/LTL freight delivery cost and the moisture content that is the moving variable. $0.31 per pound used in our quick math formulas above is a very good average to work with. Freight charge is estimated and subject to change depending on distance and location. Call us on 1-877-732-5360 or email office@edenbluegold.com your ship-to address for a freight delivery quote. This average bulk freight delivery cost quoted above is from a 325-mile radius from Central state locations.

**Manufacturer Grower's Secret's Organic Nitrogen retails an average of $4.95 per pound. Not every buyer may recognize the retail market value of Organic Nitrogen at $4.95 per pound. So, even if you sell at $2.50 per pound you gross $8,065, and after your $2,000 cost you net $6,065 profit. And, if you sell at a minimum of $1 per pound you gross $3,226, and after your $2,000 cost you net $1,226 profit. Retail values and profit ratios are subject to change depending on locations. You must do your own calculations. We do not guarantee these estimated numbers.

***Selling chicken manure to synthetic UREA farmers? If you gain an avgerage of 3,226 lbs of additional Nitrogen (you did not have before) and you sell at current UREA retail average of $0.45 per pound, you're gaining $1,452 profit because your current cellulose bedding does not grab and hold the additional Nitrogen like Blue Gold™ Terra does. Retail values and profit ratios are subject to change depending on locations. You must do your own calculations. We do not guarantee these estimated numbers.

If you use Nitrogen in your own fields, switching to Blue Gold™ Terra in your animal bedding
may eliminate the need to purchase an Organic Nitrogen input so you can keep your checkbook closed.

Your existing animal bedding of cellulose wood shavings/chips, sawdust, rice hulls, peanut shells, etc. do not lower any NH3 levels or remove it from your building(s). Blue Gold™ Terra is negative charged (-), which lets it grab positive charged (+) elements, like NH3, out of the air and turn it into water-soluble NH4. Blue Gold™ Terra retains the water-soluble NH4 and valuable micro/macronutrients increasing your litter value considerably or many times over.

Blue Gold™ Terra minimally absorbs any additional moisture out of the air because it retains a small percentage of its natural oils from the wood. These oils cause it to become a 'hydrophobic' element; meaning it repels water.

Blue Gold™ Terra will capture ½ lb of NH3 Ammonia gas (organic Nitrogen) for every 1 lb of Terra due to the massive amounts of surface area of the Carbon matrix. [1] 1 single gram of Terra (½ tsp) has the capacity (volume wise) to fit in about 400m2. Think about that. Blue Gold™ Terra will hold (retail average) $5.40 worth of additional water-soluble NH4 (Organic Nitrogen) than your present litter. Your Blue Gold™ Terra litter just became extremely valuable to your operation.

Shifting from ammonia (NH3) to ammonium (NH4+) reduces ammonia emissions

Your NO3 is the degrading nitrogen that converts to the ammonia gas NH3 and onto water-soluble NH4+. Think of a composting pile. NH3 is the offensive ammonia gas you smell when you are inside a confined animal house. The stronger the smell, the more NH3 in the atmosphere. When the NH3 is converted to NH4+, it captures the NH3 ammonia gas into a matrix that grabs and holds the ammonia gas in an extremely stable NH4+ state. [2] Our goal with the Blue Gold™ Terra, is to capture and hold as much NH3 gas into the now NH4+ state. By doing this, we will lower the volatile atmosphere ammonia gas levels in the house. The matrix and manure combination now becomes a more highly priced and sought after finished Ag fertilizer product per ton for adding and selling into farm fields and opens the door to the valuable Organic retail markets.

Reduced NO3 ammonia emission helps ease many poultry health problems observed in poultry flocks — issues such as ascites, gastrointestinal irritation, respiratory diseases, contact dermatitis, foot burns, foot disease [6]. Studies show when feed fiber content is increased, and feed size in the pellets is lowered the average ammonia levels are reduced by up to 35-50%. These results are attributed to a shift in the partitioning of nitrogen excretion from uric acid to microbial protein, and a reduction in manure resistance (pH) stemming from an increased content of microbial-produced volatile fatty acids. This causes a shift from ammonia (NH3) to the more water-soluble ammonium (NH4), thereby reducing existing ammonia gas emissions.

Fiber provides energy to bacteria in the lower gastrointestinal tract where the bacteria use nitrogen that would otherwise be excreted as uric acid for bacterial protein synthesis. This approach works well and does help a lot with the ammonia reductions. It’s important to note; not all fiber is the same or is the best fiber to use. At Eden, we have taken the ammonia reduction results to much higher levels by changing the litter composition to Blue Gold™ Terra. Going back to the higher value, this change usually comes with direct savings for the farmer followed by increased profits. Blue Gold™ Terra litter dramatically enhances the end manure composition on a fertilization level and animal production cycles. This will usually always net the growers a higher post manure sale cost per ton with changing the flocks out and cleaning of the building. Your present cellulose litter does not grab and retain the converted NH4+.

Why your Blue Gold™ Terra post manure is a sought after high-priced value input Ag fertilizer [5]

1. Blue Gold™ Terra has a ionic exchange capacity that magnetically attracts varying types of molecules including Nitrogen, Phosphorus, etc., nutrients in the soil, air and/or water. The molecules are lightly bonded to the Blue Gold™ Terra walls where roots can access them throughout the growing season. The Blue Gold™ Terra becomes a nutrient-rich, time-release capsule for plants - a major reason why it's so effective enhancing plant growth and building organic matter at high rates.

2. Blue Gold™ Terra has been tested for water sequestration and found to hold 5.6 times its weight in water; when the biologicals break down the natural contained oils. And, because the pores are very long compared with their openings, there is very little evaporation (see fig 1). When roots do not consume the sequestered water, it is held for long sustained periods of time to include the dry season.

3. To soil microbes, cleaned out Blue Gold™ Terra pores look like condominium complex (fig 2) so they move in to set up family and community. Once embedded, they're protected from precipitation that would otherwise disperse them. With Blue Gold™ Terra, microbes flourish and help create living soils with high organic matter.

4. Amending soils with Blue Gold™ Terra can have multiple environmental benefits, including improvement in soil physicochemical W, carbon sequestration, reduction in leaching losses of essential nutrients, organic matter build up, and reduction in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. [1]
